Fields, Fences, Soil, Sky

Past the ducks

I'm getting sick of my four walls

Past the tree my best friend's cousin fell out of when we were small

Past the point where you realise you can't hear cars anymore
The trees say "hello, we won't tell a soul you're here"

(Pre-chorus)

Hop the fence and catch my hand

It doesn't count, no one's around

The cows pretend they didn't hear a sound

(Chorus)
So take me out past the fields and the fences

Where another human can't be seen for miles

Where the clouds roll like the hills

And the growing flowers spill

Like a framework on the corners of your smile

And the soil where the start of something grows

So far away but oh so close to home
I have wander lust for a place I've always known
 x2

Past the barn

With each step further I can see

Past the clearing where in springtime there's a fresh rainwater stream

Climbing up until the hedges fall away and I can breathe

Blue-tinted view under a crystalline sky

(Pre chorus)

Hop the fence and catch my hand

It doesn't count, no one's around

The cows pretend they didn't hear a sound

(Chorus)

(Outro)

Can we pretend for a little while

I'm the only person ever

Ever x2

Can we pretend for a little while

That the sky goes on forever

Ever x2

Can we pretend for a little while

I'm the only person ever

We're the only people ever
