Quarantine Hits

I want a summer like last year

When we bought skittles and half priced root beer

When we played in the park, till eight o'clock and walked back when it got dark

Your trampoline was the main base, movie scene

I remember doing flips and hitting your knees

I can't recapture what it was like

So I hope I took some videos

And I'll rewatch them all tonight

(Chorus)

Cause last summer we played in the sun

Drank peach cola and laughed till our throats burned

Used our bikes as much as we could

Pedalled as far as the edge of the woods

And last summer we climbed every tree

The sun stayed out later so so did we

And I know that summer will come again, but it won't be the same

I want a summer like last year

But I can't have it cause I know you're not here

And I'm not saying I miss you

I think I really just miss the things we used to do

I've always wanted a summer like in the movies, parties and road trips and cold mango smoothies

I can't recapture what it was like

So I hope I took some videos

And I'll rewatch them all tonight

(Chorus)

Ba ba ba ba

It won't be the ame

Bada bada ba

It won't be the same

And I know that summer will come again

But it won't feel the same
